Frequently Asked Questions & Inquiries
Here are some common questions from shipowners and shipyards. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.
Overseas Service Support
- Can repairs be arranged while the vessel is at a port overseas?
- Yes. Through the Daikin Group’s global service network, we provide repair and maintenance services for marine air-conditioning and refrigeration systems at ports worldwide.
Please contact us for details on service availability and scope.
Operational Issues During Seasonal Changeover
- The air-conditioning sometimes does not operate during the cooling/heating changeover season. What should we do?
- We recommend performing a trial run before the seasonal changeover. Our inspection services include pre-season checks and trial operations to help prevent unexpected problems.
- The air-conditioning system suddenly stopped working. What should we do?
- Please contact our service desk for assistance. In some cases, the issue may also be resolved by referring to the troubleshooting section in the instruction manual.
Air Ducts & Air Quality
- Dust or rust sometimes comes out from the air outlets. What should we do?
- We provide marine duct cleaning services to remove dust and rust buildup. This not only improves air quality but also helps maintain the performance of the equipment.
- Can you handle duct design, fabrication, and installation?
- Yes. We provide one-stop services for marine duct design, fabrication, and installation. We can also propose air-conditioning systems for the entire vessel.
Cooling/Heating Capacity & System Expansion
- We would like to add additional air-conditioning units due to high temperatures. Can we consult with you?
- Yes. After reviewing the vessel size, usage, and existing equipment, we will propose the most suitable air-conditioning system.
Equipment Replacement & Retrofits
- We want to replace an air-conditioning unit, but the doors are narrow. Will it fit?
- Don’t worry. We provide disassembly, delivery, and on-site reassembly services, making it possible to install air-conditioning units even on vessels with restricted access. We will assess the site and plan the delivery accordingly.
- The air-conditioning unit has been in use for over 10 years. Can it still be used?
- We first inspect the current condition of the unit. Then, considering the vessel’s age, costs of repair versus replacement, and availability of parts, we propose the most suitable solution.
- Is it safe to continue using the current refrigerant?
- We check whether your current refrigerant is, or will be, subject to regulations. We can also propose replacement equipment that complies with environmental standards.
Maintenance & Long-Term Operation
- Can you provide maintenance for air-conditioning and refrigeration systems?
- Yes. Our strength is providing total support to ensure long-term, stable operation. We offer maintenance services that include regular inspections and preventive care.
